My friend Thomas also publishes festival recordings and other collection of home made tunes. You might want to bookmark his site, too.
Well, I had a really nice time at Lake Genero. Except, I was a-coughing and a-sneezing. I took it easy and didn't carry around my recorder and extra stuff. Cripes, it's all I can do to get the double bass from place to place. I did some fiddling, banjoing, ukeing, and singing, but I played a lot of bass. What fun on 2 strings at a time. There was about 7 folks who showed up at my 'Introduction to bass for absolute beginners and the casually curious' workshop and a good time was had by all.
Special thanks to Marc Horowitz who had a look-see at my banjo and put in a new pip. Much appreciated! And, out of the darkness, Steve James appeared and showed me some drop thumb licks to boot me up a level. That's the thing about gatherings like this. You always come away smarter than you were.
It was a rainy pack up, but that's always a possibility with this festival life. Time to get off the computer and go lay out everything on the back porch to dry.
Stay tuned.
