Poor Old Napper
Fiddle Hell has come and gone. I'm real pleased with my workshops. They were well attended and most of the participants were playing new tunes within the hour. I didn't record any of the workshops, but here's one of the tunes that I taught, Poor Old Napper from Harvey Sampson. This recording is from Clifftop '09 with a batch of jamming friends. Yet another good example of old time players catching on to a new tune by ear. You can hear it grow and take shape.
Tip of the hat to my banjo slave, Tim Rowell. And, I mean that in the nicest way. :-)
And, kudos to Dave and all the Reiners. What a fabulous job they all do.
