Clifftop

Well, there's probably more than a few of you out there who are getting ready to go to Clifftop, or other sort of outdoor campout festival.  Folks who've been doing these sorts of campouts for awhile have collected skills to stay as safe and as dry as possible. In case you're not very familiar with Clifftop, let me say this: every time I've been to Clifftop, it has rained. Some years more than others.

I'd suggest that you spend a little time learning some survival skills. Don't think that all you need is a tent and a sleeping bag. Search YouTube or Google a bit for topic that you're curious about. How to use a tarp to maximize your dryness? Know some knots that will help to use ropes effectively? Bungee savvy? Can you tie a rope to a tarp that doesn't have grommets? Got some hand warmers? Do you know what sorts of clothing will serve you the best? Whoodathunk to bring along a sponge to mop up dew or a leaky spot? Instant potatoes with cheese sticks melted in? Gosh there's no limit to the handiness and clever ways to make your festival season more comfortable.

Don't let those weather apps scare you away from a fun time in the woods with some tunes. Learn how to beat the weather. See you out there!

Hah! So, I had plenty of tarps, but neglected to heed the overnight rain forecast. Now I'm positive that my extra tent needs the extra tarp. My dripping wet friends can testify. I should listen to myself. :-)
