Playing by ear - a simple recipe

Music is a language.

We learn to talk by talking, but we listen for a year leading up to our first few words.

We learn to walk by walking, but we watch other walkers intently, then we crawl for a while and fall down a lot.

Apply that to fiddling. Find a jam near you, if you haven't yet.

My fiddling skills went way up when I found a weekly jam. Don't wait until you're 'good enough'. Just go.
