Lake Genero and Beyond

Is that Fiddlin' Bear or Fiddlin' Bare?

AKA, Lake Genero, where this sweet little old time gathering has been happening for quite a few years now. You'll find many people that will tell you that gatherings like this are where you really learn to play by ear. If that's on your bucket list, think about upping your camping game and come on along.

A few things coming up in September, too.

At the Old Songs building in Voorheesville, NY, our Aussie Bush Band monthly get-togethers are resuming on their usual 4th Wednesday evening. Add to that a new contra tune incubator make-your-own-music night. That'll be on the 2nd Wednesday for the next few months. Watch the Old Songs website for details.

Oh, and I'll be doing another 'How-To-Jam' series of 6 classes starting in late September. This will be my third time around, and I won't do the exact same thing, so returning jammers will not be bored, I promise.

I'm ending up the month playing with the Shoe String Band at the Rondout Valley Growers Association Barn Dance, with Liz Slade calling. Going to be a good time there on Sept. 28th.

You'll also hear the Shoes at the Hudson Farmers Market on Sept. 14th, then on the 21st at the Hudson Valley Harvet Fest.

I'm thinking about early Cortland Apples, but there's a little bit of summer yet.
