Congratulations to our latest batch of jammers from the Old Songs Instrument classes!
They know their 1 - 4 - 5 chord combinations and how a modal tune might be different. They can pick up some notes and chord by ear, and follow along in books with a bit more savvy. They know how to read some other instrument players to get a few more clues. They know where to go for live and online listening. And, where to go to join up with other folks. And, last but not least, they have been exposed to live modern day old time string band players and been schooled to have some respect for the old dead guys and gals who have picked, strummed, and bowed before us.
